5 Hooper St Brick

Marblehead, MA

A commissioned work for the homeowners of their period brick residence, in the historic Old Town section of Marblehead, MA. The view was taken from the third floor vantage point of the MAA Hooper mansion across the street; and shows the house and driveway on its narrow site, with the peaks of Abbot Town Hall and the cupola of the Lee Mansion in the left and right background. The dramatic shadows from a limited morning sun created some additional supportive compositional elements, while setting the “brick” within a cool greenish palette.
