Ratatouille Quartet

Within a series of vegetable paintings, the incongruously scaled squash and tomato and smaller peppers, coupled with their color contrasts and textures, allowed for a deeper study of each surface’s qualities. The flesh colored background emerged as a complimentary color to the green subjects, with gold paint curves derived from the vegetable contours.
